The Dark Tower

Movie Review: Some nice parts and acting was good but still a bad movie.

The Dark Tower is a novel by Stephen King. I never read any of his books - reading fiction seems pointless to me. Take it easy - I’m not judging people who do.

The geniuses in Hollywood, with their lack of creativity, decided to adapt Stephen King’s novel into a film. Now, there are some good elements to this film but overall I was not impressed with the film and was bored throughout. The story might please some sci-fi/horror/fantasy geeks out there but it was really dense. The screenplay was not impressive. I actually corresponded with the geek experts at ReeYaa in determining if my initial reaction of this stupid story was justified and if it was bad fantasy, they all agreed it was bad.

An evil sorcerer who is played by Mathew McConaughey is trying to take over the world. He has a bunch of foot soldiers who try to go undetected by donning white human skin suits. Apparently being white gives you better access to everything in the world. Idris Elba who plays the gunslinger hero confronts the bad white skins and tries to save the world. The sorcerer needs to basically power up a weapon using his minions in order to destroy the dark tower. The dark tower will release evil into the world if it’s destroyed and the hero gunslinger is there to protect it.

Are you shaking your head right now? If done correctly, it could have been a fun movie. Seriously, they should have adapted this into a comedy. It would have been much better. Better yet, if this novel was adapted as an HBO series, it would have been better in my opinion. The acting was superb and you have to give them a lot of respect for their performance considering how bad the screenplay was. The visual effects sucked balls and I was not impressed with the score.

Stephen King - Screw him. He bashes the right. Boycott Activated.

Casting Director (Social Justice Warrior) - Boycott Confirmed.

Mathew McConaughey - He virtue signaled with other left wing celebrities in 2016. He might be a right winger but who knows now. We should not boycot him just yet though.

Idris Ilba - Cool guy. He needs more starring roles. Never said anything stupid publicly.

ReeYaa Score = Somewhat Disapprove

Leftist Social Engineering (LSE)

If you dig deep into the making of the film you can see what they were trying to do. The force diversity element is noticeable.

The Casting - Forced social justice warrior.

Racial elements - Creating a narrative the white people are superior. The movie tries to be subtle with their political correctness but you can easily spot it if you are a right winger.
